Commissioner for Environment, Mr Mike Eraye, said this on Monday, April 1, 2019 in an interview in Calabar.

Eraye said that Gov. Ben Ayade was doing everything possible to ensure that the city retained its most beautiful state capital in the country.

“The governor is passionate about ensuring that Calabar remains the preferred tourists’ destination, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.

“For us as the implementing ministry, we are doing our best. Our activities are highly visible; we leave for the people to judge.

“We will continue to do our best within the remaining period of this administration.

“We are determined to maintain the clean and green nature of Calabar in line with the governor’s vision, ‘’ he said.

The commissioner described the reelection of Ayade as well deserved, adding that the governor had performed well to merit a second term.

“This is not surprising, and we look forward to a better second tenure to continue with his laudable programmes including the superhighway, deep seaport and a lot of others,” Eraye said.
